“FinovateFall” Recap – Acrisure Innovation Chief on Human/AI Balance, Customer Experience

When it comes to innovation, the larger players do it just as well, according to Acrisure’s Chief Innovation Officer Matt Marolda.

Matt was a featured speaker at this year’s FinovateFall fintech event where he discussed this and other related topics facing the financial services industry, including customer experience trends in the digital era. This year, the event took an innovation-first approach and hosted fintechs, platform players, financial institutions, regulators and investors who are redefining the future of financial services around the world. More than 1,100 people attended in-person as well as virtually.

According to Matt, the discussion and event did well to highlight the innovation abilities of large organizations as well as the oft-cited examples of smaller fintechs. He also believes the event underscored an important part of Acrisure’s approach to innovation – humans + AI is the best path forward for improved customer experience. The key is each half of the equation respecting the other’s contributions – for technologists, this means understanding the power of emotional intelligence and relationships; and for people, that tech and data analytics are here to augment what we can do.
