Acrisure Re Enhances Analytical Capabilities – Appoints Dr. Ming Li as Global Head of Catastrophe Modeling

Acrisure Re, the (re)insurance division of top-10 global insurance broker and fintech platform Acrisure, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ming Li to the new role of Managing Director and Global Head of Catastrophe Modeling, effective January 18th. Dr. Li will be based in New York and will report to Michael Cross, President of Acrisure Re North America.

 

In his new role, Dr. Li will lead the global catastrophe modeling effort to support (re)insurance renewals and the production of new (re)insurance opportunities. He will work closely with analytics colleagues and business leaders to provide tailored capital solutions to clients by delivering data-driven insights, assisting with catastrophe risk management, enhancing business profitability and evaluating client needs and reinsurance options.

 

Dr. Li has 20 years of catastrophe modeling experience in the property and casualty (re)insurance industry. He began his career in the industry in 2002 at Willis Towers Watson and gradually rose to the position of senior vice president. In 2013, he was appointed global head of catastrophe modeling at JLT Re. Most recently, following Marsh & McLennan’s acquisition of JLT in 2019, Dr. Li was a managing director at Guy Carpenter.
